The forth annual Southeast Venture Conference (SEVC) will be held February 24-25, 21010 at the Ritz Carlton in Tyson’s Corner, VA. The event claims to bring together 800 national venture capitalists, senior executives, entrepreneurs and technology industry professionals. The event also promises to showcase emerging technology firms in the southeast region and provides these companies with exposure to some of the region’s venture capitalists and private equity investors. Most of the vast majority of the companies showcased on the event website are either from outside of the region or are later stage startup companies. This might be a good opportunity for a local startup to get some attention. The conference is hosted by TechJournal South, a North Carolina based publication. Most people that we have spoken to about this conference suggest that MAVA’s conference, which is similar in nature to the SEVC event, is where they will be this year. However, many of the VC’s that I spoke with indicated that they will be sending someone to SEVC too. This could be an opportunity to get noticed.
